Who are we?
We are funded to work with adults 19+ across the city who experience multiple barriers to education and employment. We are part of the wider BCC employment, skills and learning team. We set up a wide range of courses in community venues across the city. We are funded by WECA and the Skills Funding Agency to deliver against targets in areas of need and/or deprivation. We also have specific project led work such as ADDER (working with people engaged in criminal justice and substance misuse), 100 Women project in South Bristol and the Multiply project. We have recently been graded good by OFSTED with elements of outstanding for behaviour and attitudes of our learners.

What do we offer?
We offer a range of courses from engagement such as well-being, arts and cookery and digital skills to accredited courses such as Functional skills maths and English, health and social care and horticulture. We follow the school timetable and start courses at the beginning of each team. Some courses have free creches as part of the offer.
The learners are supported well by the tutor but also the development worker, who takes on a special role of supporting and guiding learners as they progress through courses or onto progression opportunities. We have development workers in each area and their contact details can be found on the last page of the attached document “learner information pack” along with their geographical patches.
Who is eligible?
We work with the following:
For 2024-2025, learners must be 19 years of age on the 1st of August 2024 (i.e. at the start of the academic year)
We prioritise places for people who are unwaged, on benefits and who have no level 2 qualifications. We also look at residency status, how many years in the UK, and if registered as an asylum seeker or holds refugee status. If you are not sure if your referral will meet criteria, please get in touch as we consider people 19+ on a case-by-case basis.
