We have also created a video resource for those who are less confident at delivery or if you lack capacity to deliver yourself. 

You just need someone to time keep and hit the pause button when prompted. Make sure you have read the video description. It might be worth ensuring that the DSL or a member of the safeguarding team is present to answer questions and facilitate discussions.  

This has been designed to be paper free (COVID regulations friendly and interactive and covers the following objectives:

• Refresh: definitions, working together to identify vulnerability and take early help, and the role of the DSL (integrating updates from Keeping Children Safe in Education 2021)
• increase knowledge on topical safeguarding issues: Sexual Abuse and Sexual harassment, online safety
• Reflect on safer working practice: refresher, low level concerns and self care. 

Preparation: 

• Laptop and ability to project
• Speakers (there are videos)
• Internet connection. 
• Remember to comply with COVID public health guidance
• You may request that members of staff bring their smart phone device to assist with enhancing their training experience. 

Delivery: 

We have put recommended annotations and facilitations in the notes section of each slide. Depending on your presentation preference, you are welcome to ad-lib, however many of the slides are animated to ensure accessibility of materials and to accommodate different learning styles. 

It is recommended you protect 2.5 hours to allow for discussion and a break. If you have less time, or you have a chatty audience, you can cut down on materials and deliver them during a staff meeting if you wanted to focus longer on a topic (you should be giving regular updates throughout the year anyway).
