Local communications with schools are coordinated through the weekly Head teacher’s briefings from the Director of Education.

The coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines are safe and effective. 2 doses are being offered to children aged 12 to 15 to give them the best protection against COVID-19.

Support for children and families

• We are Bristol Bristol’s COVID-19 Response – people in urgent need can call the #WeAreBristol helpline to receive food, medicine and other necessities 0800 694 0184 (Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm and Saturday to Sunday 10am- 2pm)
• See Hear Respond Barnardo’s – rapid support for children and young people affected by coronavirus crisis. This webpage allows you to access support for families in need before they will require support for statutory agencies.

This campaign is coordinated by the Keeping Bristol Safe Partnership with the intention of supporting families and communities to check in with each other when professionals are less likely to be able to monitor and support during the pandemic.

Government guidance for schools around coronavirus - what school leaders, teachers and school staff need to do during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

• Addendum to your Safeguarding/Child Protection Policy.docx (572 KB) - to be added to your existing Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy to reflect changes made during the pandemic. Please use/amend this for your setting as required. 
  
  
• Risk assessment for vulnerable children during COVID 19 outbreak.docx (110 KB) - a risk assessment tool for schools and setting to use with parents, carers, social workers and other agencies to assess risk and aide decision making regarding vulnerable children’s attendance in school in the current COVID 19 circumstances.

Devices, internet access and digital education platforms 

• Get help with technology for remote education - collection from the DofE.
  
  
• Manage Devices - information about setting up, distributing and managing the laptops, tablets and 4G wireless routers you’ve received. You can also find guides to share with children and young people to help them use the devices. • Get internet access - find out how to get internet access for disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people when schools are affected by disruption to face-to-face education due to coronavirus (COVID-19).
