Prevent workshops and Training

Introduction

For the academic year 2024-25  Prevent Training is FREE as it has been paid for by the Home Office. 

Please see below details of three different offers provided by the Safeguarding in Education Team.

 

Prevent Workshop (face to face)

A workshop providing an opportunity for DSL's and Prevent Champions to peer review your Prevent risk assessment, practice, and policies. This is a chance to reflect and share local priorities, intelligence and share good practice.

Prevent Awareness Training for new staff (virtual)

Suitable for new staff as part of their induction. 

This training will provide staff who are new to role with basic Prevent Awareness

Autism and Prevent Training- National Autistic Society

Specific vulnerabilities in relation to extremism and radicalisation; why autistic people may be exceptionally vulnerable to being radicalised

Prevent in Education Sessions from the DfE (virtual)

Over the remainder of 2024 and in early 2025, DfE Regional Prevent Education Coordinators (RPECs) will be delivering training sessions aimed at designated safeguarding leads and school governors to support them in understanding the Prevent duty and their safeguarding responsibilities in protecting young people from radicalisation and extremism.
