To celebrate Young Carers Action day Bristol & South Gloucestershire Young Carers Service in partnership

with Creative Youth Network are holding an event for young carers attending Bristol secondary schools on

2^nd April, 9.30 – 2.30pm at the Station, Silver Street, Bristol.

Please print off the following poster to display around your settings and send out to students (poster is hyperlinked to PDF copy)

The event will provide the opportunity to: 

• Take time out and have fun through a choice of activities that include wellbeing, drama, fitness and filmmaking.   

• Find out what free youth activities are available across the city through interactive information stalls from a variety of organisations. 

• Share concerns and suggestions with decision makers in Education and Children’s Services to influence the improvement of support for young carers across the city.

Food and refreshments will be provided, school staff are asked to attend the day and make travel arrangements for their group, any public transport fares will be reimbursed. 

As a school you are responsible for ensuring you have consent for young carers to attend and collating information relating to medical, support and dietary needs. A risk assessment for the event can be provided on request.

Parents/carers will need to consent to their child attending the event. Please see here for consent form template which needs updating with your setting's contact details.
